About
“My motivation is to capture the beauty of the moment, whatever that moment might be.”
With a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, I spent years analyzing what makes people healthier and happier. Somewhere along the way, I realized nature itself does that work, too — research shows even just viewing nature images can lower your stress and heart rate. I picked up a camera to share the calm I felt firsthand when in dappled light in the woods or observing reflections in a brook.
That same close attention — noticing what's easy to miss — is what I bring to sports and events: the split-second action, the reaction on someone's face, the setting that makes a moment unmistakably itself. The process is not always graceful, like clambering up and down a nine-foot ladder to quickly position and photograph different groups of people, but getting the shot is worth it.
My work has been included in numerous private collections and local shows, including at Three Stones Gallery in Concord, MA.
